Harder to sit inside with a larger group of 7 but we made it work. Order food at the cashier, but can get drinks and dessert from the QR code on the table. I got a spicy schnitzel and it was delicious. My friends got burgers, bratwursts, and a few beers. They said the first round of drinks they got tasted more like water than beer, but were happy with the food and second round of drinks. It also took over an hour or two before I took the plates up to the bar since they weren't been taken from our table but it was a busy night so we didn't mind. There's a self serve water station and outside sits a lot more people. It was just really windy so opted out from the heat lamps.
I wouldn't call the food fast, but the vibe was chill, the staff were amazing, and the beer selection was great. It was chilly out when I went, so I sat inside, but the outside area looked cute. Dinner to go and a flight of delicious beer for $33. There are a lot of options on Castro, but this was the no-fuss vibe I needed today.
I absolutely love the food here, the meat is delicious and the rice was done on point, the place look nice having that sport bar look and have a lot of happy hour, definitely would come again

Food came out fast and was really good. We got the speatzle (chicken and vegetarian version with eggplant). The noodles were perfectly cooked and wonderfully cheesy. The berry jam on the side was delicious and tart- a nice palate cleanser. The fried eggplant was soooo good. I heartily recommend for any vegetarian. However it was a little oily. For two plates our total came to about $50 but it was a lot of food and I left stuffed. The place was pretty empty on a Sunday night but that only meant our food came out very fast.
The food, service and ambiance here are fantastic. We chowed down on two veal jaeger schnitzels and they were fantastic. My family is from Germany and they felt right at home. We drank a huge glass of Fruh Kolsch and loved every drop. This made me feel like being in the Alt Stadt for sure. If you're in Mountainview and you want German food, then this is definitely a place to hit. Vielen Dank Bierhauz!
